About Sharon
In addition to her horse addiction, Sharon has been actively involved with dogs all of her life. She has provided homes for rescue dogs for the past 10 years and has owned Australian Shepards for over 20 years. She was born and raised in a dog show family. Her grandmother bred and showed dogs for over 40 years and a big part of Sharon’s childhood was spent going to shows with her grandmother and sharing her great passion for dogs.
“I always knew I would show dogs someday – I just wasn’t sure which breed was right for me. After a lot of research I found myself drawn to the Berger Picard breed for the same reasons I was drawn to Icelandic horses over 15 years ago. Much like the Icelandic horse, the Berger Picard is an ancient breed with relatively few health issues, who are still working dogs that have not been over-bred. Working with these dogs is like touching living history. They truly are a link to our past. As with my Icelandic horses, the Berger Picards has not only met my expectations but continuously exceeds them daily”
They are a fascinating breed of dog with the ability to think and come up with their own solutions.
